Record Label 20 Buck Spin is kicking off 2025 with a brutal release—the highly anticipated self-titled debut LP from the death metal quartet CORPUS OFFAL. This album marks a new chapter for the band, which rose from the ashes of the now-defunct Cerebral Rot, following the band's untimely end after releasing two well-regarded albums. But where one band faltered, CORPUS OFFAL emerged, quickly filling the void with a new, rancid presence.
At the core of CORPUS OFFAL are familiar faces: guitarist and vocalist Ian Schwab (ex-Demoncy) and guitarist Clyle Lindstrom (Fetid, Caustic Wound), both formerly part of Cerebral Rot. The band is completed by Jason Sachs (ex-Demoncy) on bass and drummer Jesse Shreibman (Bell Witch), with their combined forces unleashing a wave of nauseating, grotesque death metal. After last year’s demo, the band now presents their full-length album, a vicious sonic assault that drags the listener through a festering, putrid underworld of decay.

The album is a gut-wrenching exploration of death metal, deathgrind, and gore, with traces of Cerebral Rot's signature low-tuned grooves and discordant leads found in tracks like “Spinous Forms Of Mortal Abhorrence” and the title track. However, CORPUS OFFAL pushes their sound even further, creating a disorienting, liquefied transformation that’s both chaotic and perversely invigorating. Schwab’s signature vile, gurgling vocals bring an extra layer of horror, echoing from a sealed basement in a nuclear morgue. The lyrics paint a grotesque picture of decomposing flesh, sickening experiments, and morbid transgressions—each song a chilling case file, told through the eyes of a deranged medical examiner.
Produced by the legendary Billy Anderson (known for his work with the Melvins, Sleep, and Bell Witch), the album’s sound is unrelentingly heavy, leaving the listener feeling disoriented and drained by its conclusion. CORPUS OFFAL’s debut LP is a true sonic carnage, a veritable slaughterhouse of sound where the listener is the prey. Fans of Cerebral Rot, Fetid, Disgorge, Cenotaph, Goatlord, Undergang, and Cianide will find this album an absolute must-listen.
Recorded at Jackpot! Recording Studio/Everything Hz and engineered by Billy Anderson, the album was mastered by Dan Lowndes (Resonance Sound) and features artwork by Karina Monzon and layout by Dan Fried. A video for the title track has also been directed, filmed, and edited by Chris Eaton.
In support of the album’s release, CORPUS OFFAL will embark on an extensive US tour alongside Mephitic Corpse from April 26th to May 29th, including a performance at the Maryland Deathfest XX official pre-fest on May 21st.
