Reece Young has been steadily carving out his place in the scene, and If last year’s HERE EP (released via UNFD) was any indication, he’s just getting started. Now, he’s back with his first release of the year, and It’s nothing short of massive.
Young has just dropped the visualizer for "broken glass," a hard-hitting track that features none other than Albany’s own hardcore powerhouse, Downswing. From the first note to the last, this one doesn’t hold back—It’s an all-out sonic assault in the best way possible. But of course, you don’t have to take anyone’s word for It. Go watch, listen, and experience It for yourself right here
Blending raw aggression with hauntingly melodic moments, "broken glass" is a rollercoaster of emotion wrapped in gritty synth layers, crushing riffs, and relentless energy. It’s heavy, It’s dynamic, and most importantly, It sticks with you long after the final note fades out.
According to Young, this track—and the rest of the music he has In the pipeline—was born from a deeply personal place.
"The whole theme of this next batch of songs is rooted in my ongoing struggle with comparison," he explains. "Social media makes it nearly impossible not to measure yourself against others. No matter how much you try to tune it out, it’s always there. I find myself constantly wondering, ‘Why them? Why not me?’ whenever I see someone else thriving in a space I’m fighting to break into. 'broken glass' is my response to that frustration. It’s my message to those sitting at the top, the ones who seem untouchable."
For those unfamiliar with his journey, Young hails from New Jersey, where he first gained traction through self-released tracks that quickly caught the attention of fans and Industry insiders alike. Over time, he fine-tuned his sound, blending elements of metalcore, alternative rock, and electronic influences Into something uniquely his own. Now based in Nashville, he’s fully Immersed In the music world, channeling his experiences, struggles, and emotions into every song he puts out.
At the heart of it all, Young Isn’t just an artist—he’s a music fanatic through and through. He’s one of those people who grew up obsessed with the scene, inspired by the bands that shaped him, and driven by the desire to carve out his own space alongside them. His music Isn’t just about writing catchy hooks or delivering heavy breakdowns (though he does both exceptionally well). It’s about storytelling. It’s about taking raw emotion, vulnerability, and real-life struggles and turning them into something anthemic.
With "broken glass," he’s setting the tone for what’s to come. And if this track is anything to go by, Reece Young isn’t just making noise—he’s making a statement.
So, turn up the volume, hit play, and get ready. This is just the beginning.
